Have you ever noticed a ten-minute wait for the treadmill at the gym at the beginning of January, then by the end of the month, there are three available at any given time? New Year's resolutions are a time-honored tradition, but let's be honest: they rarely work.  

 

Whether it's because we set our sights too high or we simply forget what we resolved to do, most of us end up falling off the wagon within a few weeks. That's why making smaller, more frequent goals is a much better strategy for achieving long-term success. By setting aside some time every month or two to reassess your goals, you can make sure that you're still on track and make any necessary adjustments.  

 

Plus, the satisfaction of ticking items off your list more often will keep you motivated to keep going. So instead of vowing to lose 20 pounds or finally start that blog on January 1st, resolve to make some small changes this year and see where they take you. Chances are, you'll be surprised at how far you can go.
